Guillemot Motor Sailer

Guillemot carries two tenders, a 6.5m Smuggler Strata and a 4.2m Zodiac, so going ashore never waits on a single boat. She is a 141ft (43m) motor sailer from Vitters, built in 2004 and refitted in 2021, drawn by Dubois outside and Dick Young Design inside, and the captain and crew who run her have been aboard for years.

Accommodation and crew

Three cabins with queen beds and two twins sleep ten guests, all on the lower deck and each with its own en suite, and for a day aboard she can take twelve. The owner's cabin is aft and split over two levels, with its own study and a dressing room of its own, so it is more than somewhere to sleep. Seven crew look after the ten guests.

Comfort under way

Her hull has crossed oceans more than once, which says most of what needs saying about how she handles a sea, and she cruises at 12 knots with 20 knots at the top, so the water between islands is covered in good time.

On deck

A covered dining area outside can be extended until all the guests sit down together, with built-in sofa seating aft and space set aside for sun pads. Inside, the main saloon rises over two levels, a sofa corner and a study to starboard on the lower level and the wheelhouse and cockpit on the upper, so there is somewhere to sit indoors and watch the water. A gym and a sauna are aboard as well, so keeping fit and warming up both have a room of their own.

Water toys

Two Seabobs put two riders in the water at the same time, and an E-foil surfboard and a wingfoil travel with Guillemot alongside two inflatable paddleboards and two inflatable kayaks for paddling away from the yacht. Behind a tender there is a wakeboard, a kneeboard, a monoski, two sets of water skis and a children's set, and two donuts, and she carries fishing gear and snorkelling gear as well, so a line can go over the side and the seabed can be looked at from the surface.

Where she cruises

Sandy Ground in Anguilla is her home port, and Anguilla, St Martin and St Barths are three of her eight cruising grounds. Guillemot also works St Kitts and Nevis and Antigua and Barbuda. St Lucia, the Grenadines and Grenada complete the list, each a different coastline to anchor along.

Charter notes

Her peak months are December and January into February and March, and the people who should hire her are two couples or a family of up to ten with divers among them. Scuba diving is arranged on a rendezvous basis, and her large platform is built for diving as well as swimming, so divers go into the sea straight from the yacht and come back aboard the same way.
