Gypsea Motor Yacht

A refit in 2022 is the most recent chapter for Gypsea, the 86ft (26m) motor yacht Riva launched in 2012.

Accommodation and crew

Eight guests sleep aboard in four cabins, and twelve can come along for a day on the water, so the party can be larger than the number staying the night. A crew of three runs her. She is air-conditioned throughout, and the Wi-Fi keeps the group in touch with home.

Comfort under way

Gypsea cruises at 28 knots and holds 35 knots at the top end, quick enough that the distance between stops counts for little.

On deck

The swim platform sits down at water level, so getting in for a swim and climbing back out again asks nothing of anyone.

Water toys

A 13ft Aquascan jet tender runs the trip ashore, and in the water there is a Seabob, a towable banana, an inflatable trampoline and further inflatables, along with snorkelling gear.

Where she cruises

Her home port is Freeport in the Bahamas, and Miami is a second base, which gives her two places to set out from across the Bahamas and the USA.

Charter notes

Gypsea suits a family or a group of friends travelling together, with December through March her busiest months, and she takes a three-day hire as readily as a full week's charter, so a short trip works as well as a long trip.
