Elegant Motor Yacht

Refitted in 2021, Elegant came from Palmer Johnson in 1990, an 80ft (24m) motor yacht whose low draft lets her lie close in to a beach.

On deck

A barbecue and a bar are set up on deck, so cooking and drinks happen outside, and the swim platform makes getting into the sea and back aboard easy. Air conditioning below and Wi-Fi through the boat keep the cabins cool and the group in touch.

Water toys

Fishing tackle and snorkelling equipment travel with her, along with a SUP board for paddling around the anchorage and a drone for pictures from above. The 8ft Daihatsu tender handles the trips ashore.

Where she cruises

Athens is her home port, and from there she works the Athenian Riviera along the coast of Greece, where Astir Bay at Vouliagmeni makes a swimming stop and Sounio sits below the temple of Poseidon. South of Attica lies the island of Kea, with secluded beaches and bays to swim from. Poros brings the clear water of Love Bay and a harbour town of narrow streets and waterfront caf&s, while the calm bay at Porto Heli and the island of Spetses, known for its mansions and lively port, are also within her reach in Greece.

Accommodation and crew

Three cabins sleep six overnight, a king, a double and a twin, and a crew of four, a chef among them, looks after the boat and the cooking.

Comfort under way

She cruises at 35 knots and will run to 45, which brings anchorages well down the coast into range.

Charter notes

Elegant suits a family or a group of friends: she can be taken by the week, for three days, or hired for a single day, July and August being her busiest months. Day trips take up to twelve guests, more than stay the night, so a wider group can come along.
