Milu II Motor Yacht

Twin MTU engines give Milu II 45 knots at the top and a 38-knot cruise, so distance down a coast costs little of the day. She was built by Mangusta in 2018, an 85ft (26m) motor yacht, and refitted in 2019.

Accommodation and crew

Three cabins take seven guests overnight. The master is unusual in its layout, entered from the centre with the bed facing the bow, and it has a small walk-in wardrobe; the other two are a double and a twin with a pullman berth. The dining table is a long one and seats seven, so nobody eats apart, and by day her limit rises to twelve.

Comfort under way

A composite hull on planing lines is what carries those speeds, lifting rather than pushing through the water, and she takes 850 litres an hour to feed the engines.

On deck

The swim platform leaves the sea a step below, so going in and coming back out stays simple.

Water toys

A 12ft Williams tender handles the runs ashore. Two stand-up paddleboards let a pair set off together, a wakeboard and a towable donut built for three riders are aboard, and snorkelling gear with some diving equipment goes with them. On week-long bookings a Seabob comes too.

Where she cruises

Milu II keeps her home port in Sardinia, Italy, and cruises the coasts of Italy and France, with Poltu Quatu among the harbours within her reach.

Charter notes

At her busiest in July and August, she suits a family or a group of friends who want the water close and the miles easy. With three crew aboard, Milu II asks nothing of them beyond choosing where to stop next.
