Optimus Prime Motor Yacht

A refit in 2025 is the newest thing about Optimus Prime, a 68ft (21m) motor yacht that Galeon delivered in 2019, and she carries stabilisers of the kind that go on working while she is moving.

Comfort under way

The gain is less roll on open water, and there is pace in hand too: she cruises at 24 knots and will run to 32.

On deck

Her barbecue means a meal can be cooked and eaten outside, and the swim platform gives a flat step down to the water rather than a jump from the side.

Water toys

A beach tender handles the trips ashore, and everything else aboard points at the water: snorkelling gear for a look below the surface, water skis and a towable tube for anyone after speed, a SUP board for a slower paddle, and floating mats and an inflatable pool for staying put.

Where she cruises

Optimus Prime's home port is Miami, and she works three grounds – the USA, the Bahamas and Turks and Caicos – from that base in the USA, so a trip starts and finishes in the same city.

Accommodation and crew

Three cabins sleep six – a king, a queen and a twin – and a crew of two runs her, with air conditioning against the heat and Wi-Fi to keep the group reachable.

Charter notes

Optimus Prime can be hired by the week, for three days or for a single day, her peak months running January to March, May through August and December. A family or a group of friends up to six fills her cabins, and by day up to twelve can be aboard.
