Barbara Motor Yacht
About Barbara
A 23-knot top speed is plenty of pace in a boat of 47ft (15m), and Barbara has it in reserve when the water opens up ahead of her. She came out of the Galeon yard in 2020, a motor yacht scaled for a small party rather than a crowd.
Accommodation and crew
Three cabins sleep six guests, and a crew of two runs her, so nobody in the party ends up at the helm or on the lines, and there are two people aboard looking after six. The cabins are air-conditioned, which makes the nights aboard easier.
Comfort under way
At 17 knots she covers ground without fuss, so a bay further along the coast stays a reasonable idea rather than a whole undertaking.
Water toys
A beach tender travels with her for going ashore dry rather than swimming for it, and snorkelling gear is aboard, so an anchorage turns into a reason to get in the water and look at what is under it.
Where she cruises
Barbara keeps her home port in the Ionian, and Greece is the whole of her cruising ground, with July and August the peak of her season.
Charter notes
She suits a family, or friends travelling together, more than a large party, and a week's charter in Greece works around the six who sleep aboard. By day she carries 10 guests, so a day hire brings a few more people out on the water alongside them.
