About Picnic

Donald Starkey shaped Picnic outside and in, and her day is built larger than her night: twelve guests sleep aboard, while eighteen can be aboard by day, so the party that sleeps in her cabins has room to bring others out on the water with them. Feadship built her in 2000 as a superyacht of 164ft (50m), and she was refitted in 2017.

Water toys

Nine toys travel with her. A single Wave Runner jet ski and a single Seabob are joined by SUP boards for paddling, water skis and a wakeboard for being towed, a towable tube, inflatable toys and a trampoline for the water, and snorkelling gear for looking below the surface. A beach tender carries guests ashore.

Where she cruises

Sandy Ground in Anguilla is her home port, and she is the second longest yacht based there. Her grounds take in Anguilla itself, St Martin, St Barths, the British Virgin Islands and the USVI, which gives a group a choice of waters rather than a single stretch of coast.

Accommodation and crew

Six cabins sleep her twelve guests, and twelve crew look after them, so each guest has a crew member of their own.

Comfort under way

Zero-speed stabilisers work at anchor as well as under way, so the roll is taken out of her whether she is lying still or moving. She cruises at 14 knots with 24 in hand for a longer passage, and the months from December through March are when she is most asked for.

On deck

A deck jacuzzi puts a place to soak in the open air, and Picnic also carries a gym and a spa, so a week aboard need not mean a week away from a training routine or a treatment.

Charter notes

Picnic suits two couples travelling together or a family, and she is offered for a full week's charter or as a three-day hire, so a group with less than a week to spare can still have her.
