Hakuna Matata Motor Yacht

Extensive work in 2022 brought Hakuna Matata up to date, a Couach motor yacht of 120ft (37m) built in 2009 and among only eight yachts from that builder available to charter.

Accommodation and crew

Six cabins take twelve guests: a master suite on the main deck and a second master suite on the lower deck, where two VIP suites and two twin cabins also sit, each twin carrying a pullman berth as well. Two master suites mean two couples can each have a cabin of their own at the same standing, and a crew of seven looks after those twelve, which means more than one crew member for every two guests aboard.

Comfort under way

Stabilisers keep the roll down, and she is quick with it: Hakuna Matata cruises at 25 knots and reaches 34, so a long leg between anchorages passes quickly.

On deck

Her sundeck carries a retractable roof, so the party can have shade or open sky as it likes, and beneath it a bar, a jacuzzi and sunbeds, with room up there to eat in the open air.

Water toys

A 13ft tender runs guests ashore, and Hakuna Matata carries a Seadoo jet ski, two Seabobs for two riders at a time, two paddleboards, a kayak and three wakeboards, together with water skis, an inflatable canapé and two inflatable rings to float on, and snorkelling gear for time under the surface.

Where she cruises

From her home port at Mykonos, she cruises Greece, and the two months at the height of her season are July and August.

Charter notes

For a week in Greece she suits two couples or a family, and she is also offered as a shorter hire of three days, while for an event she can host 70 guests. A family gets the most from her kit, because the water skis and the snorkelling gear both come in adult and children's sizes, so the youngest aboard have equipment that fits them.
