Papillon Superyacht

Bering is responsible for both the exterior and the interior of Papillon, a 92ft (28m) superyacht from 2022, with dark wood panelling and blue and white nautical accents running through her rooms.

Where she cruises

Nassau is her home port in the Bahamas and Bodrum her second base, and she cruises the Bahamas, Greece and Turkey, which gives guests a choice of regions rather than a single stretch of coast.

Accommodation and crew

Four cabins sleep eight, the master towards the bow and three guest staterooms on the lower deck, a king and three doubles between them, and by day she can carry twelve. Her crew of four – captain, chef, stewardess and an engineer who also works on deck – is a crew member for every two guests overnight.

Comfort under way

Papillon is built in steel, and two stabilisation systems, gyroscopic and hydraulic, hold her steady at rest as well as under way, so there is less roll in either state. Two Cummins engines bring a cruising speed of 10 knots, with 13 available.

On deck

A large sundeck and a comfortable lounge area give the party room to spread out, and she runs year-round, at her busiest in January, February and March and again in July, August and December. A barbecue handles cooking outside, and the swim platform puts the sea a step down.

Water toys

Her 28-foot chase boat takes people ashore, and for towing there are waterskis, a wakeboard and a tube, with a Yamaha SuperJet for a rider. A two-person kayak, two paddleboards, floating mats and snorkelling gear cover the quieter water, and the fishing gear runs from bottom fishing to trawling.

A week's hire aboard Papillon suits a family or a group of friends, and for the divers among them scuba comes as rendezvous diving.
