About Papillon
Two stabilisation systems, gyroscopic and hydraulic, work together to keep Papillon steady at anchor and under way, the kind of engineering an explorer yacht needs for long passages rather than short coastal hops. Bering built her as a Bering 92 in 2022 on a steel hull, designed from the outset for extended cruising rather than day trips. She is offered for sale through Boatcrowd from her berth in Antalya.
Build and provenance
She is a long-range explorer yacht on a steel monohull, 28 metres in length and 92 feet by American convention, built for comfort and stability rather than outright speed. Her interior carries a classic scheme of dark wood joinery with blue and white accents, and her owner's suite is sized for the long stays an explorer yacht is designed for.
Layout and accommodation
Eight guests sleep across four cabins, and a crew of four looks after them, a ratio built for the kind of multi-week expedition an explorer yacht is meant for rather than a long weekend.
Performance and engineering
Twin 610 hp Cummins QSM-11 engines give Papillon a 10-knot cruise and a 13-knot top speed, figures that belong to a boat built to cover distance steadily rather than arrive quickly. A 1.8-metre draft and a 6.7-metre beam keep her out of the shallowest anchorages while adding the stability an explorer hull needs offshore. A seven-person tender and a kit of paddleboards, a kayak, snorkel gear and a wakeboard cover what happens once she is anchored.
Where she lies and how to see her
Papillon lies in Antalya, Turkey. Boatcrowd sets up viewings there and is present for them, and once an offer is accepted a survey and sea trial follow before handover. She also sails in our charter fleet, so a buyer can book a week aboard before deciding to buy.

Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
