Templar Motor Yacht

Fishing tackle is part of the standard kit aboard Templar, and a Lancer tender powered by a 60HP Honda takes the party ashore. She is an 82ft (25m) motor yacht built by Alloy Yachts in 1993 and refitted in 2017.

Where she cruises

Auckland is her home port, and her cruising stays within New Zealand, year-round, with January, February and December the busiest of her months. That single coast is worked straight from her berth, with no crossing between countries.

Accommodation and crew

Four cabins sleep nine guests, and four crew run her. Air conditioning throughout keeps the cabins cool, and Wi-Fi keeps the group in contact with home while they are aboard.

Comfort under way

She cruises at 14 knots with 26 at the top end, so the run between two anchorages is covered quickly.

On deck

The flybridge is generous and carries an outdoor bar with open views, while a lounge on the foredeck gives the group a second place to settle outside. A barbecue handles cooking in the open air, showers on deck rinse off the salt, and the swim platform puts the water within a step.

Water toys

Two paddleboards travel with her, so a pair of guests can be out on the water at the same time, and towable toys give the tender something to pull. Snorkelling gear is aboard for looking below the surface.

Charter notes

Templar suits two couples or a family taking her overnight, while by day she can hold forty-four for a gathering or a team event. Beyond the full week she can be taken for three days, a day or half a day.
