Magic Cat Luxury Catamaran

Carbon hulls and a Gilles Ollier design put Magic Cat nearer a racing multihull than a cruising boat, and that is no accident: Multiplast, the yard that built her in 1996, is known for big racing multihulls, and she came out of a refit in 2022. At 82ft (25m) she is a luxury catamaran whose performance is known among experienced sailors.

Water toys

A 13ft tender handles trips ashore. Water skis, a mono ski, a wakeboard, a wake skate and a towable tube are aboard, two kayaks and two paddleboards let a pair go off quietly under their own power, and snorkelling gear and fishing kit mean nothing needs to be hired ashore.

Where she cruises

Bequia is Magic Cat's home port, with the rest of the Grenadines close by and Grenada, St Lucia and Martinique within reach. She also sails to Guadeloupe, Antigua and Barbuda, St Martin, St Barths and Anguilla. France, Italy and Monaco are on her range too, so guests are not limited to a single sea.

Accommodation and crew

Four double cabins sleep eight guests and the crew of four has quarters of its own, which puts a crew member aboard for every two guests; she is in most demand in January, February, March, July, August and December.

Comfort under way

Twin Yanmar engines give a cruising speed of 10 knots and 28 knots at the top end, and she uses 20 litres an hour under power. Her two hulls give a broad, level platform, so there is little roll to contend with.

Charter notes

She suits a family or a group of friends who want the sailing itself to count for something rather than serve as transport. By day she can take twenty, so a wider group can come aboard for hours on the water.
