Fifty Sailing Catamaran

Fishing gear comes aboard Fifty with the rest of her toys, and because she goes out for a day charter as well as for a week, a rod over the side is open to a party that has her for the day only. She is a 51ft (15m) sailing catamaran from Leopard Catamarans, and she was built in 2024, so nothing aboard her has had time to wear.

Water toys

Two paddleboards put two guests on the water under their own power at the same time, and snorkelling gear is there for going under it rather than across it. Her tender is a 13ft Williams Jet Tender for the runs ashore, the towable toys are for being dragged across the water at speed, and fishing gear completes the five toys she carries.

Where she cruises

Phuket, in Thailand, is her home port, and from there her cruising takes in Thailand and Malaysia, so the water on offer is not confined to a single country.

Accommodation and crew

Three cabins, each with a queen bed, sleep six guests overnight, which means three couples can each have a queen to themselves. A crew of two sails her and runs the tender, and nobody in the party is asked to take a line or the helm. Air conditioning keeps her interior cool and Wi-Fi keeps the group in touch with the shore.

Comfort under way

Fifty cruises at 9 knots and can make 13 knots, December to March being her peak season, and as a catamaran she rides on two hulls, which keeps her decks level under sail and steady when she lies still.

Charter notes

Fifty suits a family or a group of friends who want to be sailed rather than to sail, and she is offered for a day, for three days or for a week. A day's hire takes ten guests, so the party out with her for the day can be larger than the group that sleeps aboard.
