Valium Power Catamaran

Valium burns 60 litres of fuel an hour, and that plain figure sets the tone for the rest of her – a 67ft (20m) power catamaran from Lagoon, built in 2023, whose two hulls spread her living space wide and hold her level at anchor.

On deck

Her swim platform puts a swimmer in the sea in a step and back aboard just as easily, so a swim needs no more planning than the decision to take it.

Water toys

She carries six toys, and a 13ft tender for going ashore. A single paddleboard gives a guest a way across a bay under their own power, two water skis mean a skier can be towed, and inflatable toys are there for the water around her. Fishing gear is aboard, so a line can go over the side, and snorkelling gear as well, for anyone who wants to see what lies under her.

Where she cruises

Mykonos, in Greece, is Valium's home port, and Greece is the whole of her cruising ground, so a charter aboard her stays inside a single country's waters from start to finish, with her season at its height in July and August.

Accommodation and crew

Five double cabins sleep ten guests, so each pair aboard has a double bed of their own rather than twin berths, and a crew of two looks after them and the boat.

Comfort under way

Under way she holds 10 knots and can reach 14 when the crew asks more of her engines, so moving between anchorages is unhurried rather than a dash.

Charter notes

Valium's hire suits two couples with a double cabin apiece, or a family that fills all five, and by day she can carry twelve, so the party aboard in daylight can be larger than the party that stays the night.
