Reve Bleu Luxury Catamaran

Reve Bleu keeps two home ports rather than a single base, and a chase boat, Reve Bleu Med, travels with her under her own captain, so a party aboard can follow two programmes at once instead of moving as a single group. She is a Lagoon built in France in 2023, a 67ft (20m) luxury catamaran with grey hulls, a black mast and sails from Incidences.

On deck

A beam of 10m gives her decks their width, and the saloon opens straight to the outside so that light and the view fill it, with the galley set at the same level. A swim platform puts the water a step away, and the chase boat adds a generous platform of her own, extra-large sunbeds and stowage for the toys.

Water toys

Two Seabobs travel with her, along with two towed buoys, water skis in mono and bi form and a wakeboard in adult and child sizes for towing behind the tender, and two paddleboards and two kayaks give a slower way around an anchorage. A kite, a wingfoil, fishing tackle and snorkelling gear come too, and ashore two electric bikes and two electric scooters cover ground a tender cannot.

Where she cruises

Corsica, in France, is her home port, and Basseterre her second base. Sardinia and the coast of Italy lie within her Mediterranean range, and the chase boat lets guests reach secluded coves while the crew use her to scout anchorages ahead. Guadeloupe, Martinique, St Lucia, the Grenadines, Grenada and Antigua and Barbuda make up the rest of her waters. She sails all year with the chase boat alongside, and her busiest stretch runs from December through January, February and March before returning for July and August.

Accommodation and crew

Ten guests sleep aboard in five cabins, and twelve can be with her by day. The owner's cabin has its own bathroom and steps straight out onto deck, three VIP cabins carry double beds, and the aft port cabin converts from a double to two singles; a further cabin with three berths can be freed for guests on request, with the crew moving to the forepeaks and the chase boat. A crew of three sails Reve Bleu herself, captain, deckhand-stewardess and chef, and the chef cooks breakfast, lunch and dinner each day from a galley stocked with local produce and a bar of aged and blended rums.

Comfort under way

Under Yanmar power she cruises at 7 knots with a top speed of 10 knots, and her hulls are drawn to cover miles under sail and then to sit easily once she is moored.

Charter notes

Reve Bleu is offered for charter by the week, and she suits two couples or a family of up to ten. A hire of her brings two boats, so with her lying at anchor the chase boat can carry part of the group off on a day out with lunch, to fish, wakeboard or dive, while the others stay aboard.
