Black Caviar Sailing Catamaran

Two Sea Scooters go aboard Black Caviar, so two swimmers can be towed along under the surface at the same time, and they lead a kit of four toys on a Lagoon sailing catamaran of 54ft (16m), built in 2024.

Accommodation and crew

Five cabins sleep eight guests, and eight is also the most she carries by day, so the people aboard at anchor are the same people who sleep aboard. Each cabin has its own climate control, which means the temperature in each is set from inside it. A crew of two sails her and looks after those eight, and a washer and dryer on board means the laundry is done during the week rather than saved for home.

Comfort under way

Under way she cruises at 8 knots and makes 9 at most, so her passages are unhurried. Two hulls hold her level, so she heels little under sail and the cockpit stays a place to sit while she is moving.

On deck

That cockpit is laid in teak, with lounge seating on the aft deck and a second seating area in the forward cockpit, so the party can sit outside at either end of her. Black Caviar's flybridge is shaded and carries its own lounge seating for drinks and sunbathing, and speakers in the cockpit and around the decks play whatever is paired to the audio system by Bluetooth or USB. Inside, the saloon and dining area are open plan behind large panoramic windows, so the view stays with the guests when they go in, and a Nespresso machine, an ice maker and a dishwasher mean coffee and ice are made on board and the washing up is not done by hand.

Water toys

Two paddleboards ride with her, so two people can paddle off from the boat together, and snorkelling gear is aboard for the water around her. Her tender is a 4.6m dinghy with a 60hp engine, and it is what carries the party ashore.

Where she cruises

Split is her home port and Croatia the whole of her cruising ground, with July and August the height of her year there.

Charter notes

Black Caviar is for a family, or for a party of friends numbering eight at most, and she is taken on charter by the week, with her hire also offered for a minimum of three days. Her swim platform puts all eight of them a single step above the sea, so getting into the water and back out again needs nothing more than that step.
