Genesis II Sailing Catamaran

One cabin with a king bed, and the rest of her given over to two guests: Genesis II is laid out for a couple and little else. Catana built this 47ft (14m) sailing catamaran in 2000.

Water toys

A 13ft tender takes care of the trips ashore, and two kayaks mean two paddlers can set off together rather than take turns with a single boat. Fishing tackle and snorkelling gear are both aboard, so the water is as much a part of the day as the deck, and two e-bikes come along for covering ground once ashore.

Where she cruises

Her home port is Canouan, in the Grenadines, so the Grenadines are the first water she sails, with Grenada and St Lucia within reach. She also works Martinique, Guadeloupe, Antigua and Barbuda, St Barths, St Martin and Anguilla, nine cruising areas in all and a long choice of landfalls.

Accommodation and crew

Two crew look after two guests, a crew member for each – her peak months are December, January, February and March. The cabin is air-conditioned, and a Playstation 4 is aboard for the time spent below rather than in the water.

Comfort under way

She sails at 9 knots and can make 14, and her twin hulls give her a wide, level deck to move around on under way.

Charter notes

Genesis II suits a couple above all, and with twelve able to be aboard by day, there is room for friends to join for the swimming and the kayaks.
