Heliotrope Power Catamaran

Fishing tackle travels with Heliotrope, a 48ft (15m) power catamaran built by Bakri Cono in 2017, so a line can go over the side as soon as the anchor is down.

Where she cruises

Pattaya is her home port, and she cruises Thailand all year, with December and then January to March her busiest months. Among the four yachts working out of Pattaya, Thailand, she is the only one from her builder.

Accommodation and crew

A crew of three runs her, which means the helm, the lines and the anchor are theirs to handle rather than the guests'.

Comfort under way

Two hulls give her a wide, level deck to walk about on, and she cruises at 8 knots with 12 knots at the top, so a move between bays is unhurried rather than a sprint. Wi-Fi reaches across the boat, so guests are not out of touch through the day.

Water toys

A beach tender takes guests ashore, and a kayak and snorkelling gear come along for anyone who would rather be in the water than on it.

Charter notes

Day and half-day charters are both available, so a group can take a morning on the water or make a day of it, and a single hire puts as many as 35 guests aboard together.
