Grey Superyacht

A beach club opens Grey to the water, and a hull with a low draft lets her cruise shallow areas and hold close to a shoreline. Francesco Paszkowski drew her exterior, a whisper-grey hull under a jet-black superstructure, and Cassetta Yacht Designers her interior; she is a 164ft (50m) Tankoa Yachts superyacht launched in May 2023.

Accommodation and crew

Six staterooms, each with its own bathroom, sleep twelve guests, and twelve is also her limit by day. The full-beam master on the main deck has an emperor-sized bed, a seating area, a separate office and a walk-in closet, with fold-out balconies on both sides of the hull so the sea is in view from the bed wherever she lies. A VIP double is also on the main deck, and the lower deck holds two further doubles and two twin cabins. A crew of nine runs Grey.

Comfort under way

Her CMC stabilisers work at zero speed as well as under way, so she rolls less at anchor and on passage alike. She cruises at 14 knots and reaches 17, and her peak months are July and August. Two Starlink antennas and a mobile data link carry Wi-Fi and media throughout her.

On deck

Two jacuzzis are outdoors: a jacuzzi in the open on the foredeck and a shaded spa on the flydeck, which also has a barbecue. A fold-out cinema screen stands in front of the foredeck jacuzzi, so a film can be watched from the warm water. She also carries a gym – a Technogym bench and exercise bike, dumbbells and yoga mats – along with a spa and a sauna, and her swim platform puts the sea a step away.

Water toys

An 18ft Williamson tender takes guests ashore. A Seadoo jet ski and a Seabob each carry a rider and a Liftfoil travels with them; two paddleboards and two inflatable canoes move at the pace of whoever paddles, three Jobe towables, water skis, a wakeboard and a kneeboard cover the pulled sports, and snorkelling gear is aboard for looking beneath the surface.

Where she cruises

Grey has her home port at Monte Carlo in Monaco, and she cruises Monaco, France, Italy and Spain. Villefranche is a bay town with clear water, Calvi a crescent bay beneath a Genoese citadel with pine forest behind it, and Cala di Volpe on the Costa Smeralda gives her emerald water.

Charter notes

Grey suits two couples or a family, sleeping twelve on a week's charter and taking 100 guests aboard for an event. Her two twin cabins convert to queen doubles, which means a single week's hire fits a party of couples and a family with children in the same cabins.
