Samsara Samudra Superyacht

Nine toys travel with Samsara Samudra, and diving leads them: scuba equipment is aboard, certified divers can take nitrox fills, and two beach tenders run guests and kit ashore. She is a 138ft (42m) phinisi-style superyacht, custom built by Sulawesi Builders in 2022 and refitted in 2024, and only two yachts have come from that yard.

Inside

Her interior sets dark timber against cream and touches of deep green, a scheme a boutique hotelier drew from the islands of Indonesia, and the cabins are air-conditioned, which keeps them cool, with Wi-Fi aboard.

Water toys

Two kayaks and two stand-up paddleboards are aboard, so a couple can head out together under their own power, while the wakeboard, water ski and towable toys are there to be pulled behind a tender. Snorkelling gear opens up the shallow water, and there is fishing tackle as well.

Where she cruises

Komodo is her home port and Raja Ampat her second base, with the Spice Islands and the Alor archipelago also in reach: islands to anchor among across Indonesia, and she is in most demand from December through March.

Accommodation and crew

Six cabins sleep twelve guests and fourteen can be aboard by day. The master suite is built around a king-size bed, the luxury suite takes a queen, and two of the deluxe suites can be made up with twin beds. A crew of twelve means a crew member for each guest aboard.

Comfort under way

She is a phinisi at heart, traditional in hull and modern in her finishes, cruising at 10 knots and topping out at 12, so she covers the water between anchorages at an unhurried pace.

Charter notes

Samsara Samudra suits a family or two couples with divers among them, and because she takes a week or a three-day hire, a shorter trip is possible too.
