Mutiara Laut Superyacht

Full scuba kit travels aboard Mutiara Laut, with nitrox and PADI dive masters among her crew, so divers need bring nothing of their own. She is a wooden 150ft (47m) superyacht from Leendert Philippus, built in 2009 and refitted in 2023, with two masts.

Comfort under way

Seven sails drive her at an easy pace, and under power she makes 12 knots with 14 in reserve, enough for remote islands.

On deck

The air-conditioned indoor lounge and dining area opens to a covered outdoor lounge with day beds and sofas for open-air meals, and a licensed massage therapist gives massages on deck or on a deserted beach.

Water toys

Mutiara Laut carries two sea kayaks and two stand-up paddleboards for quiet work along a shoreline, a wakeboard and a waterski for the towed sports, and snorkelling and fishing gear besides. A beach tender takes guests ashore with beach games and a volleyball set.

Where she cruises

Komodo is her home port, with a second base at Raja Ampat, and she voyages through the islands of Indonesia. Komodo National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, has the dragons, a pink sand beach and fine dive sites, with Raja Ampat in the Coral Triangle. Alor and the Banda Sea add Indonesia's volcanic islands and drift dives.

Accommodation and crew

Seven cabins sleep 16 guests, and 20 can be aboard by day. The owner's cabin on the main deck has a private terrace, and the rest are en-suite on the lower deck. A crew of as many as 18 means more than one crew member per guest, and her peak months run December to March.

Charter notes

Families shaped her, and children are welcome in the wheelhouse to learn a little navigation. She can be hired for a week or three days, and with full dive equipment and dive masters aboard, experienced divers and snorkellers are equally looked after.
