Sweet Virginia Motor Yacht

Twelve guests can be aboard Sweet Virginia by day, and her stabilisers work at anchor as well as under way, so the deck stays steady for the whole party whether she is lying still or moving. She is a 96ft (29m) Sanlorenzo motor yacht with a contemporary interior, and large windows fill that interior with daylight.

Accommodation and crew

Four staterooms sleep eight overnight: a master with a king bed and an ensuite shower, two VIP staterooms with queen beds and ensuites of their own, and a fourth cabin whose twin beds convert to a queen, so it serves as a twin or a double as the party needs. Five crew look after those eight guests, more than one crew member for every two of them.

Comfort under way

She cruises at 20 knots with 24 in hand, so the miles between anchorages pass quickly, and a 2m draft lets her anchor close to a beach.

On deck

A swim platform puts the water within a step, and she carries beach chairs and umbrellas for a stop on the sand as well as yoga mats, so a mat need not come in the luggage.

Water toys

A 28ft Pursuit with twin 300hp Yamahas tows behind her as chase boat, though it is not available in New England. The SeaDoo RXT 300 seats three riders, the two Sublue Navbow sea scooters pull two swimmers through the water at a time, and an inner tube goes on the tow line behind Sweet Virginia. An inflatable SUP board, light fishing gear and snorkel gear give the party paddling, fishing and snorkelling, and the floating Aquabana Cabana, two electric scooters and two electric RC boats travel with her as well.

Where she cruises

Her home port is Newport in the USA, and she works the USA coast, the Bahamas and the Turks and Caicos.

Charter notes

Sweet Virginia is at her best with a family or a party of friends. Her charter runs by the week or over three days, so a group that cannot spare a full week can still take her for a shorter hire, and her peak months run from December into March.
