About Penguins

Zuccon International Project drew the exterior of Penguins and Philippe Briand her naval architecture: a displacement hull moulded in GRP with two MAN engines behind it, the pairing that decides how she moves through the water. She is Sanlorenzo's SD90, a 90ft (27m) motor yacht delivered in 2025.

Water toys

Ten toys travel with her, led by a Fliteboard e-foil and two Seabobs, so two can ride at once, with four stand-up paddleboards, an inflatable canoe, a wakeboard, water skis, a towable banana, water floats and snorkelling gear for the rest of the party. Her tender is a Yamaha-powered Capoforte chase boat.

Where she cruises

Her home port is La Spezia in Italy. From there she covers Italy, France and Monaco, which gives her the Côte d'Azur and the rest of the western Mediterranean, coastline that can be worked harbour by harbour.

Accommodation and crew

Ten guests sleep aboard in four cabins. The owner's cabin is forward on the main deck, on the same level as the saloon and the galley, and the other three are below: a VIP and two twins, each twin with a pullman berth and a single twin able to convert to a double. A crew of four looks after the ten, and they cook in a fully fitted Italian galley.

Comfort under way

Penguins cruises at 10 knots with 17 in hand, a displacement pace that suits her hull. Her stabilisers are rated to work at zero speed and on passage alike, so most of the roll is taken out of her whether she is stopped in a bay or moving along the coast.

On deck

The flybridge carries a helm, sofas and a table laid for twelve, which is as many as she may carry by day, so a full daytime party sits at a single table outdoors. The bow holds a large sunbathing area and a lounge open to the sea on every side, and a cockpit aft gives a second place to sit outside. A swim platform puts the water at the bottom of a step, a barbecue and an ice maker mean grilled food and cold drinks without a trip to the galley, and a gym on board means training need not wait for shore.

Charter notes

Penguins is available for hire by the week, for three days or for a single day, with July and August her peak, and a main-deck owner's cabin set above three lower cabins is a layout that suits two couples as well as a family of up to ten. Her Capoforte takes ten at a time, so the whole overnight party can go ashore together in a single trip.
