Alter Ego Motor Yacht

A Seabob travels with Alter Ego, a 68ft (21m) Riva motor yacht launched in 2005 and refitted in 2022, her interior modern in line and finished in fine woods.

Accommodation and crew

Three suites sleep six guests, each with its own bathroom and a television: a master cabin forward, a VIP double and a twin, reached from a small hallway below deck with settees of its own. A crew of two runs her, and a water maker keeps her tanks supplied, so rinsing off salt after a swim is never rationed.

Comfort under way

Two MAN engines drive a planing hull to 39 knots at full stretch, and she cruises at 24 knots on 289 litres an hour, which brings a bay well along the coast within range.

On deck

Forward there is a sunbathing lounge under a large awning that shades it and cuts the wind, while the cockpit aft has seating and a dining table, and the salon opens straight onto it so the two areas join up.

Water toys

A 10ft Avon tender runs guests ashore, and alongside the Seabob she carries paddleboards, a towable donut and snorkelling gear, so a swim can just as easily become a paddle.

Where she cruises

Sardinia is Alter Ego's home port, and she cruises Italy, the Italian Riviera among the stretches within her range, with July and August her peak months.

Charter notes

She suits a family or a group of friends who want a week in Italy with a fast boat under them, and by day she can take twelve, room for others to come out on the water.
