Four Joys Motor Yacht

Four Joys carries a beach club with fold-out seating at sea level and a direct step into the water, and she is Maiora's work throughout, exterior lines and interior alike – a 100ft (31m) motor yacht of 2023 that holds the Best Evolution Award from the World Yachts Trophies, held in Cannes.

Comfort under way

Two MTU diesels give her a 17-knot cruise and 22 knots when pressed, and she uses 620 litres of fuel an hour; her hull is GRP. Zero-speed stabilisers work at anchor as well as under way, so there is less roll whether she is making way or stopped.

On deck

The flybridge is her signature, teak-laid and built on a single level that runs right round her, so a guest walks from the aft end to the foredeck without a step up or down and without anything in the way. A lounge on the foredeck and a shaded aft deck add two more outdoor rooms, which means there is always somewhere in the open and somewhere out of the sun, and the lounge areas spread across her decks look out on all sides.

Water toys

Her tender is a Williams 505 diesel jet with a Yanmar 110 HP engine, the boat that takes the party ashore. Two Seabob F5s put two riders in the water at once, two paddleboards – a Jobe Aero Yarra inflatable and a second SUP board – give two paddlers the same, and for towing she carries adult water skis, a Jobe Vanity wakeboard and two Jobe towables, a Hotseat for a single rider and a Binar for two. Fishing gear travels aboard, and two mountain bikes come along for riding on land.

Where she cruises

Mykonos, in Greece, is her home port, and Greece is where Four Joys cruises; the Cyclades and the Peloponnese both lie in her waters, Greek coast for her to anchor off, and the height of her season falls in July and August.

Accommodation and crew

Five cabins sleep ten guests: a master suite on the main deck that takes her full beam, with a king bed, two queen cabins and two twins, and ten is also her limit by day. Full-height windows light the main-deck saloon, where sofas and lounge seating are linked to a formal dining table laid for ten, so the whole party sits down together, and the saloon carries an 85-inch Samsung QLED 8K television.

Four Joys suits a charter for two couples or a family who want the water close and the yacht steady, and her hire runs by the week. Six crew look after her ten guests, more than a crew member for every two aboard, and that is the number that shapes the week.
