Samata Motor Sailer

Scuba diving is part of what Samata offers, so guests can spend as much of their time under the water as on it. She is a 138ft (42m) motor sailer built by Konjo Boat Builders in 2006 and refitted in 2014.

Inside

A spa aboard means being looked after without going ashore for it, and air conditioning runs through the interior. Wi-Fi and satellite television are carried, so the outside world stays within reach of the people on board.

Water toys

Snorkelling gear opens the shallow water to anyone who would rather stay on the surface, and a Seabob, a kayak and SUP boards are there for the water around her. A wakeboard adds a tow for anyone after speed, fishing tackle is carried, and her beach tender takes guests ashore.

Where she cruises

Raja Ampat is her home port, and she cruises the waters of Indonesia, where December through March are her peak months.

Accommodation and crew

Five cabins sleep ten guests, and a crew of fourteen looks after them – more than one crew member for each guest, so the service never runs thin.

Comfort under way

She cruises at 7 knots with 17 knots at the top end, which keeps her passages unhurried.

Charter notes

Samata makes sense for a family or two couples, and for divers above all. She can also be taken on hire by the day, when as many as eighteen can be aboard, though it is the diving and the water of Indonesia that will bring most groups to her.
