Otium Motor Sailer

Two dive compressors with a dryer and a Nitrox membrane system are built into Otium, alongside professional scuba equipment and underwater scooters, so tanks are filled and enriched-air mixes blended without anyone leaving the yacht. She is a 157ft (48m) Custom Made motor sailer, a phinisi with her superstructure in ironwood and teak and her exterior lines by Marc Christoffel, and she launches in 2026.

Where she cruises

Her home port is Raja Ampat in West Papua, she keeps a second base at Komodo, and all of her cruising lies within Indonesia, her peak months falling from December into March and again from June through August. Raja Ampat is an archipelago of karst islands with reefs counted among the most biodiverse on earth and lagoons a kayak can thread. Komodo National Park spreads across the islands of Komodo, Rinca and Padar, with manta rays and sea turtles on the reef and the Komodo dragon on a trek ashore. Alor's strong currents draw hammerhead sharks, and the Banda Islands of Maluku Province in Indonesia pair diving in the clear Banda Sea with nutmeg groves and old forts.

Accommodation and crew

Six cabins sleep twelve guests, a king bed in the master suite and queens in the other five, each with its own bathroom, and she carries the same twelve by day. The master suite sits on the main deck and opens onto a private balcony. Fifteen crew look after those twelve, a cruise director among them, so there is more than one crew member for every guest.

Comfort under way

A Yanmar engine gives her a cruising speed of 9 knots and 12 knots at full power, and a solar array paired with batteries keeps her nights silent.

On deck

The Day Club sundeck on Otium's main deck runs from a bow lounge into a dining area of its own, with loungers in the sun and shaded corners out of it, and its open-air table seats twelve, so the whole party can sit down together outdoors. Inside, the air-conditioned lounge keeps a TV with an Xbox and a sound system for films, games and music, and yoga mats and a massage therapist's services are hers too, for a stretch or a massage aboard.

Water toys

Two RIB tenders with 100hp engines each carry up to ten guests, enough for the whole party to go ashore together, and a swim platform puts the sea a step away. Kayaks and paddleboards suit the lagoons, a wakeboard and surfboards the open sea, floaties are for drifting, and snorkelling gear and fishing equipment travel alongside them; a Discover Scuba Diving course is there for anyone in the group who has never dived, so a family can share the same reef from the surface and from below.

Charter notes

Otium is offered for hire by the week and suits two couples or a family who dive, or who would like to start, and a charter aboard her comes with a private dive guide, so the diving is guided by someone who travels with her.
