Phoenix II Motor Yacht

A full-width master cabin forward holds a king-size bed, a walk-in wardrobe and a private study, unusual room for a single cabin on a yacht of 116ft (35m). Phoenix II is a Custom Made motor yacht from 2003, refitted in 2011, her hull drawn by Bill Dixon.

Where she cruises

Her home port is Bodrum, and she cruises Turkey and Greece: the calm of a hidden anchorage in Turkey, or the everyday life of a Greek harbour.

Accommodation and crew

Below, a VIP cabin with a double bed and settee and two twin cabins, one with a pullman berth, make four ensuite cabins in all. Nine guests sleep aboard, looked after by a crew of six: captain, engineer, mate, stewards and chef.

Comfort under way

Zero-speed stabilisers take the roll out at anchor as well as under way, and the epoxy composite hull is insulated against engine noise; she cruises at 14 knots with 20 in reserve, uses 500 litres an hour, with July and August her peak.

On deck

The flybridge carries a jacuzzi, sunbathing space and lounging chairs under a wide bimini, with a dining table, a wet bar, a grill and a galley in the open air, so a meal can be cooked and eaten outdoors. On the main deck a glass slider joins the sheltered aft dining area to a saloon that pairs a lounge and bar with a dining table.

Water toys

Seven toys travel with her: two Yamaha jet skis for two riders, a Seabob F5, two kayaks, water skis, snorkelling gear, and a water slide straight into the sea. A 15ft Williams tender runs guests ashore, and the swim platform makes climbing out of the water easy.

Charter notes

Phoenix II suits a family, or two couples sharing the charter, and the rental runs by the week; for a day on the water she can have twenty aboard.
