L'Orientale Motor Yacht
About L'Orientale
Diving gear travels with L'Orientale, so guests who want to get below the surface can, and a crew of four looks after no more than seven of them, which keeps the service close and unhurried. She is a 66ft (20m) motor yacht from Cheoy Lee, built in 1978 and given a refit in 2018.
Comfort under way
L'Orientale cruises at 8 knots with 11 knots available, an unhurried way of moving from an anchorage to the next.
Water toys
Paddleboards and a kayak give guests a way to cover the water close by under their own power, there are inflatables to play with and snorkelling kit for anyone who would rather stay on the surface, and fishing is catered for as well. A beach tender takes the group ashore.
Where she cruises
Koh Lipe is her home port, and of the yachts based there she is the longest; her cruising is all in Thailand, and her peak months run from December through March.
Accommodation and crew
Three cabins sleep seven guests overnight, and for a day on the water she can carry twelve. Air conditioning, Wi-Fi and satellite television are aboard, which keeps a group comfortable and in touch.
Charter notes
L'Orientale suits a family or a group of friends drawn to what is under the water as much as to what is on it. She can also be chartered by the day, when twelve can come aboard rather than seven – a straightforward hire in Thailand for a larger group with a day to spend afloat.
