What to ask the broker

In charter, a superyacht usually means a crewed yacht of about 24 m (80 ft) and over, though there is no single legal definition. Larger yachts carry larger crews, often a captain, chef, stewards and deck crew. Many quote a weekly base rate plus an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) for fuel, food, drinks and berthing. Ask what the APA covers and how any balance is returned.

A reply within 24 hours
  • What does the weekly base rate include?
  • What does the APA cover, and how is any balance returned?
  • How many crew are aboard, and in which roles?
  • Is berthing on our route paid from the APA?
