Local knowledgeSouth of the hurricane belt with near-constant trade winds, Aruba is one of the Caribbean's rare true year-round charter grounds.
Holidays and school breaks that suit these waters
Yes, the so-called ABC islands sit within 45 to 90 nautical miles of each other, making a week-long island-hopping itinerary very achievable on a motor yacht. Passages between islands take four to eight hours depending on yacht speed and sea state, leaving plenty of time for snorkelling, diving, and cultural exploration at each port of call along the route.
Aruba sits well south of the hurricane belt, making it one of the safest year-round charter destinations in the Caribbean with remarkably consistent weather. Tropical weather systems very rarely reach the island, so charters can be booked with confidence even during the broader Caribbean hurricane season from June through November.
The base daily rate covers the yacht, professional crew, insurance, and standard onboard amenities including water toys and linens. The APA, usually around 30 to 35 per cent of the charter fee, funds fuel, provisioning, marina and port fees, and any additional requests such as special menus or guided shore excursions. Unused APA is refunded in full after the charter concludes.
Consider your group size, preferred activities, and cruising style when making your selection. A 60′ catamaran suits six to eight guests who value open deck space and shallow-water access for snorkelling, while a 75′+ motor yacht offers greater speed between islands, air-conditioned salons, and a larger water-toy garage. Boatcrowd’s specialists can shortlist the best options based on your priorities and budget.
Yacht charter Aruba sets your cruise against a desert-island backdrop of wind-sculpted divi-divi trees, rugged limestone coastline, and calm, impossibly blue leeward waters that glow turquoise over white sand and deepen to sapphire just metres from the shore. Sitting outside the hurricane belt roughly 15 nautical miles north of Venezuela, Aruba enjoys over 300 days of sunshine a year and near-constant trade winds of 15 to 25 knots that temper the heat and keep sailing conditions lively. The island’s sheltered west coast, from Palm Beach’s resort strip down to the quiet coves of Mangel Halto and Baby Beach, provides calm anchorages for tender excursions and water-toy sessions, while the dramatic north coast showcases the Natural Pool carved into volcanic rock and the collapsed Bushiribana Gold Mill ruins. The fleet includes around 15 yachts, with motor yachts of 68′-98′, superyachts above 100′, and luxury catamarans from 55′. Peak season spans December through April; shoulder months of May and November deliver lower rates with equally reliable sunshine and warm water.
Daily rates start from $4,300 on a catamaran and from $5,900 on a mid-size motor yacht of 68′-78′, plus APA of about 30 to 35 per cent. Aruba’s standout is the unlikely pairing of arid, cactus-dotted landscapes with world-class snorkelling, the Antilla wreck, a 120-metre German freighter scuttled in 1940, sits in just 18 metres of water and is thickly encrusted with coral fans, orange tube sponges, and schools of sergeant majors.
