Flying Whale Sailing Catamaran

Two fishing rods travel aboard Flying Whale, so a line can go over the side wherever she anchors, and two Seascooters go with them. She is a 60ft (18m) sailing catamaran built by Xquisite Yachts in 2024, one of two of her builder's yachts on Boatcrowd, and she sails as a fully crewed charter.

Comfort under way

She cruises at 8 knots and makes 10 at most, a sailing pace that keeps a passage between anchorages calm rather than quick, and her two hulls sit level both under sail and at anchor.

On deck

A bimini puts shade over the deck so the outdoors stays usable in strong sun, a hammock gives a place to lie that moves with her, and a barbecue means meals can be cooked in the open air rather than below. A swim platform takes guests straight from the deck into the sea.

Water toys

Eleven toys come with her, and her 14ft dinghy does the pulling: water skis, a wakeboard, a kneeboard and a towable tube ride behind it, while a single SUP board and a kayak give a quieter way to leave the boat by paddle. Floating mats give somewhere to lie in the water alongside her, snorkelling gear opens up whatever lies beneath the anchorage, and a set of beach games goes ashore in the tender.

Where she cruises

Her home port is Nassau in the Bahamas, and from there Flying Whale works the Bahamas and the Turks and Caicos, two grounds she can move between under sail, which is what a sailing catamaran is built to do.

Accommodation and crew

Two cabins, each with a king bed, sleep four guests overnight, and by day she can carry twelve. A crew of two look after them, which on a boat of four guests means a crew member for every two aboard, and a pair of hands to sail her and see to the four while the guests need do none of it.

Charter notes

Flying Whale suits two couples: she is offered by the week and for shorter rentals, with her peak falling in the months from December to March, and because both cabins carry a king bed, neither couple takes the lesser bed.
