L62 Sailing Catamaran

Her four cabins divide into two queens and two twins, so a party of eight has a choice of beds rather than a single fixed arrangement. L62 came from Lagoon in 2014, a sailing catamaran of 62ft (19m).

Accommodation and crew

A crew of two runs her for those eight guests, handling the sailing and the tender so nobody aboard has to think about either. Air conditioning and Wi-Fi are fitted, which keeps the cabins comfortable and the group in touch with whatever they left behind.

Comfort under way

She cruises at 8 knots and has 11 in reserve, an unhurried pace that makes the passage between bays part of the day rather than an interruption to it.

Water toys

A 10ft RIB tender takes the group ashore, and there is a SUP board and a kayak for anyone who wants to move under their own steam. Fishing gear travels with her, and a floating mat and noodles turn the water alongside into somewhere to stay put for a while.

Where she cruises

Central is her home port, and she sails Hong Kong waters all year, with April and May and then October and November her busiest months. Hong Kong gives her sheltered bays and swimming stops within easy reach of the city she leaves from.

Charter notes

For a family or a group of friends, L62 works as a week-long home for eight, and when the party grows for a day on the water she can take 25 aboard, which makes her an easy boat to hire when the whole circle wants to come.
