Pura Vida Sailing Catamaran

Pura Vida carries five cabins, four of them with double beds, so four couples each have a double to themselves. She is a 56ft (17m) sailing catamaran, built by Lagoon in 2016.

Comfort under way

Under sail she settles at 9 knots and carries 15 knots at the top of her range, which leaves her something in reserve for a longer leg.

Water toys

A beach tender takes guests ashore, so reaching a beach does not depend on the boat moving, and the SUP boards, towable toys and snorkelling gear make up what stays aboard for the water: boards to stand and paddle on away from the hull, towables to be pulled along behind, and gear for looking at what lies under the surface.

Where she cruises

Her home port is Ambergris Caye in Belize, and Belize is the whole of her cruising ground, sailed year-round, with December through March the months most in demand.

Accommodation and crew

Ten guests stay the night on board and twelve can be aboard by day, with a crew of two running her. The cabins are air-conditioned and Wi-Fi reaches through the boat, so guests can stay in touch when they want to.

Charter notes

She suits a family or two couples travelling together; a week is the usual charter, and a three-day hire is also possible.
