Purpose I Sailing Catamaran

Twelve guests can be aboard Purpose I for a day on the water, while eight sleep aboard overnight. She is a 50ft (15m) sailing catamaran from Fountaine Pajot, built in 2014 and refitted in 2022.

Water toys

Fishing gear travels with her, and a kneeboard and a towable tube give riders something to be pulled along behind. Snorkelling kit and an underwater camera cover what goes on under the surface, and a 13ft tender takes guests ashore.

Where she cruises

Tahiti is her home port and she stays within French Polynesia, sailing year-round with May to August her peak months.

Accommodation and crew

Five cabins take eight guests for the night, with four queens in the bed layout, and a crew of three runs her, so the guests are looked after rather than working the boat.

Comfort under way

Her cruising speed is 7 knots, with 9 at the top, the unhurried pace of a boat that sails rather than powers between anchorages.

On deck

Her swim platform makes going in for a swim, and getting back aboard afterwards, a simple step.
