About Suay

Suay gets through 70 litres of fuel an hour under way, and the rest of her is as plainly laid out: a Fountaine Pajot MY4.S power catamaran of 36ft (11m), built in 2024 and arranged on a single level throughout, her spaces broad and full of daylight.

Where she cruises

Phuket is her home port and the Andaman Sea coast of Thailand is where she works, the four months from December to March being her peak. Within her range are Phang Nga Bay and Hong Krabi, the Pakbia Islands, Maiton and Racha Yai, and the Phi Phi Islands, which gives a party the enclosed water of a bay and island beaches, some of them out of the way, to go ashore on.

Accommodation and crew

Three double cabins sleep six guests overnight, a single cabin among them is en suite, and the master carries its own television. Air conditioning in the saloon and the cabins keeps the whole boat cool. Three crew run her – a captain, a deckhand and a stewardess – so with six guests aboard the helm, the tender and the service each have a person to themselves.

Comfort under way

Her catamaran hulls hold her level and steady, and she is quick with it: she cruises at 18 knots with 28 knots at the top, so a day out can take in more than a single island rather than a choice between them.

On deck

Her hydraulic bathing platform lowers to the water for an easy step in and out, and a deck shower rinses the salt off. A stereo runs over Bluetooth inside and out, so the party's own music plays indoors and outdoors alike.

Water toys

A tender with an outboard engine puts guests ashore, and Suay carries a stand-up paddleboard, a floating swimming pool and a floating mat to lie on in the water, with snorkelling equipment for looking beneath the surface. Fishing equipment comes aboard on request, and diving gear, a jet ski or an underwater scooter can be arranged for hire in the same way.

Charter notes

Suay is chartered by the day or the half day and suits a family or a group of friends holidaying in Thailand who want the whole party on a single boat. Twelve can be aboard by day, and transfers from hotel, villa or airport are part of the arrangement, as are lunch, snacks, fresh fruit, soft drinks and local beers, so a group of that size steps aboard with the day already provided for.
