Amura Sailing Catamaran

A 13ft ZAR tender rides with Amura, ready to take guests ashore whenever the anchor is down. She came from Bali Catamarans in 2021, a sailing catamaran of 55ft (17m).

Where she cruises

Ibiza, in Spain, is Amura's home port, and the waters of Spain are the nearest of her cruising grounds. Her Caribbean range takes in the USVI and the British Virgin Islands, with St Martin, St Barths and Anguilla. Grenada and Barbados sit within it too, each a separate place to anchor, swim and go ashore.

Accommodation and crew

Five cabins sleep 11 guests overnight, and by day she can carry 12 aboard. The berths run to four queens, a twin and a pullman. Three crew sail and look after her, and her busiest stretches are January through March and again in July, August and December. Air conditioning keeps the cabins cool and Wi-Fi covers the boat, so nights are comfortable and messages home still get through.

Comfort under way

She settles at 8 knots under way with 12 knots at the top of her range, an unhurried pace for moving from anchorage to anchorage.

On deck

The swim platform turns a swim into a step down and an easy climb back aboard.

Water toys

Beyond the tender she carries a wakeboard for those who want a tow, a kayak for working along a shoreline under paddle power, and snorkelling gear for seeing what lies under the hull.

Charter notes

Amura suits couples travelling together or a family, hired with her crew, who do the sailing and the day-to-day running so the week in the water and ashore belongs to the guests.
