Insomnia Motor Yacht

Insomnia was the last of Sunseeker's 86s to leave the yard, delivered in 2020 and with few hours on her engines since: an 86ft (26m) motor yacht with a captain aboard full time.

Accommodation and crew

Four staterooms sleep eight guests: king-size beds in the master and the VIP, and two twin cabins whose single beds join to make a double. All four have en-suite bathrooms, and the master adds a vanity and a wardrobe with room to walk in. Her four crew work out at a crew member for every two guests.

Comfort under way

Zero-speed stabilisers hold her when the engines are stopped, and they work again once she is making way, which cuts the roll in both. She cruises at 22 knots, and 28 knots is her top end.

On deck

The sundeck is her social centre, with a wet bar and a barbecue, an oversized sunbed and a seating area that looks out over the water ahead. Meals can go outside on the aft deck or at the interior table, which seats all eight together; the main salon is bright through its large windows.

Water toys

Two Seabobs mean two guests can use them at the same time, and water skis, a wakeboard, a floating pool and an inflatable slide travel with her, along with scuba and snorkelling gear. A 13ft tender runs people ashore, and the swim platform makes climbing back aboard easy.

Where she cruises

Nice in France is her home port, with a second base at Naples, and her cruising covers France, Monaco and Italy.

Charter notes

She suits a family or a group of friends, with weekly bookings the usual thing and three days the shortest hire, July and August her peak months. Eight sleep aboard and twelve can be aboard for a day on the water, which gives a family room to bring friends along.
