EM3 Motor Yacht

Two Seabobs and a Radinn Icebreaker electric board travel with EM3, enough for two Seabob riders to be in the water at once. She is a Sanlorenzo SD90, a 90ft (27m) motor yacht from 2023, her exterior lines and naval architecture drawn by Zuccon International Project and her interior by Patricia Urquiola.

Water toys

Two stand-up paddleboards go with her as well, so two paddlers can be out together, and inflatable toys and snorkelling gear complete the six toys she carries, which means a swim from her side can turn into a look at what lies beneath it.

Where she cruises

Her home port is in Sardinia and she flies the Italian flag, and her cruising grounds take in the coasts of Italy and France, which gives a week two countries to choose between.

Accommodation and crew

Four ensuite cabins sleep nine guests overnight: the owner's stateroom with its king bed lies forward on the main deck, two VIP cabins with queen beds sit amidships on the lower deck, and the fourth is a twin whose beds can be pushed together as a double, with a pullman berth above. That forward part of the main deck is drawn as a partial full-beam, so the interior there has more room than a conventional plan would give. By day she can carry twelve, and four crew look after whoever is aboard, July and August being her peak months.

Comfort under way

Two MAN i6 engines drive her semi-displacement GRP hull, and EM3 cruises at 22 knots with 30 available at the top, so the distance between stops is covered quickly; she burns 485 litres of fuel an hour and draws 2m.

On deck

Her open flybridge tops the two and a half decks she spans, a level given wholly to the open air, and a swim platform at the waterline is the step off for the Seabobs, the boards and anyone going in for a swim.

Charter notes

EM3 is offered for charter by the week and suits two couples or a family, and her 14ft DieselJet tender runs guests ashore, so a beach or a harbour is within reach for a week's hire without moving her from her anchorage.
