Vauban Superyacht

Vauban's garage opens out into a beach club furnished with lounge chairs, and a set of retractable stairs leads from it straight down into the sea, so a swim starts with a walk down rather than a jump. She is a 121ft (37m) Sanlorenzo superyacht delivered in 2024, with an interior by Zuccon International Project, and July and August are the two months at the height of her season.

On deck

The flybridge has its own helm station, a bar and a Teppanyaki grill alongside modular sofas and sun loungers, and a table with ten places, so the whole overnight party can sit down together to a meal cooked in the open. Forward, the bow sunpads take detachable shades, the aft deck holds more seating under a covered roof, and the main saloon opens through sliding doors and a large retractable balcony, with a convertible table that changes shape to suit the meal.

Water toys

A single jet ski carries a rider at speed, the Jobe wakeboard and Jobe water skis are towed sports for a pull behind a boat, and snorkelling gear lets a swimmer look at the seabed instead of only the surface. Vauban's 19ft Williams Jet Tender 565 runs guests ashore and back.

Where she cruises

Corsica, in France, is her home port, and her range covers the Mediterranean. She works the coasts of France, Italy and Monaco, and of Greece, Spain and Malta too, six countries that put six different coastlines within reach of a single base.

Accommodation and crew

Five staterooms sleep ten guests, and she can carry twelve aboard by day. The master suite sits on the main deck with panoramic windows, a walk-in closet, an ensuite and its own door out to the foredeck, and the remaining cabins are on the lower deck, two VIP doubles and two convertible cabins, each with large opening windows, a television, closets and an ensuite in marble and glass. The beds run to a king and two queens, while the convertible cabins change layout to suit who is sleeping in them. A crew of seven sails with her, so there is well over a crew member for every pair of guests aboard.

Comfort under way

Stabilisers keep working when she is stopped as well as when she is moving, so she sits flatter at anchor and rolls less on passage. She cruises at 20 knots and reaches 27 flat out.

Charter notes

Vauban suits two couples travelling together, or a family. Her owner offers her for yacht charter over a full week, and a three-day hire is possible as well, so a family with less than a week to spare still gets the whole of her.
