Ocean Phoenix Motor Sailer

Ocean Phoenix carries a windsurf board, a kayak and snorkelling gear, so a small group has three separate ways into the water. She is an 82ft (25m) motor sailer, built in 1996 and given a refit in 2019, and she uses 10 litres of fuel an hour under way.

She holds 8 knots and can reach 10, so she moves at a pace that stays easy on everyone aboard.

Where she cruises

Ocean Phoenix has her home port at Quepos in Costa Rica, the only Pendennis among the eight yachts based there, and she cruises the waters of Costa Rica and Panama.

Accommodation and crew

Three cabins sleep six guests, looked after by three crew – two guests to every crew member. The berths run to a king, two doubles and a pullman, the cabins are air conditioned, and Wi-Fi keeps the group in touch with home.

Charter notes

Ocean Phoenix suits a family or a group of friends who want the whole boat to themselves, and a three-day hire makes a shorter break workable; her busiest months are December through March. By day she can carry 12, which leaves room for a larger group to come aboard for time on the water.
