Sputnik Motor Yacht

A crew of two runs Sputnik for four guests overnight, which works out at a crew member for every couple aboard, and the same pair look after as many as fifteen people when she is out for the day. She is a 62ft (19m) Numarine motor yacht, built in 2016.

Where she cruises

Sai Kung is her home port, and she covers the water around Hong Kong as well as the run across to Macau, which gives guests a choice of where the day goes.

Accommodation and crew

Her two cabins each hold a double bed, so four sleep aboard in a layout with no bunks and no shared cabin; both are air-conditioned, Wi-Fi covers the boat, and her busiest months are April, May, October and November.

Comfort under way

She cruises at 25 knots and will reach 34, so distance is no obstacle when the plan changes halfway through the day.

On deck

The swim platform gives level access to the sea for swimmers, and an open-air cinema means a film can be watched outside rather than in a saloon.

Water toys

A 10ft RIB tender travels with her and handles the trips ashore, so an anchorage away from a marina still leaves the land within reach.

Charter notes

Sputnik suits two couples who want a small boat with a crew to handle her, and she can be hired for a half day as readily as a full one, which lets a group match the time on the water to what they actually want from it.
