Pacific Mermaid Motor Yacht

Pacific Mermaid came out of a refit in 2005, and this 104ft (32m) motor yacht, built by Johnson Yachts in 1995, uses 50 litres of fuel an hour.

Water toys

Six toys come with the charter. Two SUP boards let a pair of paddlers set off together, there is a kayak, a wakeboard for whoever wants to be towed, and fishing and snorkelling gear for time spent in and over the water. A 15ft tender handles the runs ashore.

Where she cruises

Nadi, in Fiji, is her home port, and Pacific Mermaid cruises Fijian waters as well as French Polynesia and New Zealand.

Accommodation and crew

Four cabins sleep eight, two of them with queen beds and two with twins, and a crew of four runs her, a crew member for every two guests aboard. Air conditioning and Wi-Fi run through the yacht, so a family stays comfortable and in contact while they are away.

Comfort under way

Stabilisers steady her under way, which takes the roll out of a longer leg, and she cruises at 10 knots with 14 available when there is ground to cover.

Charter notes

A week's hire aboard Pacific Mermaid suits a family or a group of friends travelling together, with January, February and December her busiest months, and for a day on the water she can have twelve aboard, so friends can join for the swimming.
