Marina Wonder Motor Yacht

Seven crew look after the ten guests who sleep aboard Marina Wonder, and she carries a gym as well, so a week of being waited on still leaves room to exercise. She is a 123ft (37m) Gulf Craft motor yacht, built in 2012 and refitted in 2022.

Where she cruises

Her home port is Amalfi, in Italy, and she keeps a second base at Nice, which gives a party two ports to join her from. Between them she works Italy, France and Monaco.

Accommodation and crew

Five staterooms sleep the ten, four of them doubles and a single twin, with the master cabin on the main deck, and by day she has room for twelve, so a party larger than her berths can still spend the day aboard.

Comfort under way

Her stabilisers work at zero speed as well as under way, so she rolls less lying at anchor and less again on passage. She cruises at 12 knots with 17 in hand, and uses 300 litres of fuel an hour.

On deck

Marina Wonder, whose season peaks in July and August, carries a jacuzzi on deck for sitting in warm water above the sea and a swim platform for stepping down into it. Four Brompton folding bikes travel with her too, for riding on land.

Water toys

Two 12ft Williams tenders run guests ashore, and having two means a party can split without anyone waiting. For towing there are two wakeboards, a mono ski, a set of water skis, three inflatable towables and a trampoline with its own launcher; for paddling, two inflatable kayaks and two paddleboards, so two can go out side by side. Two Seabobs, a sub wing and a hydra surf board come along as well, and snorkelling equipment with neoprene vests means a swim can include a look at what lies below, with a set of fishing gear besides.

Charter notes

Marina Wonder suits two couples or a family, and she is let by the week or, at the shortest, for three days, so three days is the briefest rental she takes. For an event she can carry 40 guests, so a gathering aboard her can be far larger than the group that sleeps in her cabins.
