B74 Power Boat

B74 went through a refit in 2019, and the 74ft (23m) Bertram power boat that came out of it is the only boat from that builder at her base. A fresh water maker and an ice maker keep water and ice coming without a trip back to the dock, and air conditioning runs through the cabins.

On deck

Her swim platform turns getting into the sea into a step down rather than a climb, and there is an outdoor shower for washing the salt off again. Speakers on deck put the music outside rather than leaving it in the saloon.

Water toys

Fishing is part of what she does, along with snorkelling and diving, and a kayak and a floating mattress are aboard for quieter time in the water. Water skis and a jet ski come out as well, a Seabob can be arranged in advance, and her tender takes guests ashore.

Where she cruises

Fajardo is her home port, and she cruises Puerto Rico, her peak months running from December through to March.

Accommodation and crew

Four cabins sleep eight guests, two with queen beds and two with twin berths, and a crew of two looks after them.

Comfort under way

She cruises at 18 knots and will run up to 30, which brings more of the coast within reach in a day.

Charter notes

Short trips suit her as well as long ones: she goes out by the week, for three days, and for a day or a half-day hire. By day she can carry twelve rather than eight, so a family or a group of friends staying aboard in Puerto Rico can have others join them on the water.
