Charade Superyacht

Charade came out of a 2023 refit with a fold-down transom that drops open into a beach club, putting the water a step from her deck, and a jacuzzi set on her foredeck. She is a 125ft (38m) Benetti superyacht from the Fast 125 series, built in 2018, with an interior by the British studio RWD and an exterior drawn by Stefano Righini.

Comfort under way

Twin MTU engines give her an 18-knot cruise and 22 knots at full speed, and because her stabilisers stay active once she is lying still, and not only on passage, the hull settles at anchor much as it does when she is on the move.

On deck

The jacuzzi shares the bow with a seating area, and the upper deck aft is laid with a large round table served from an outdoor counter with its own sink and fridge. Higher again, the sundeck is furnished with duck-egg blue sofas and tables that can be extended to seat more, and after dark an RGB lighting system washes her exterior in a choice of colours.

Water toys

Seven toys travel with Charade. Four Seabobs mean four guests can be out on them together, and a single e-foil joins them. The water skis and wakeboards come in sizes for adults and for children, an inflatable tow sofa is there for the towing, and two paddleboards and snorkelling gear complete the set. Her 19ft Williams jet tender runs guests ashore.

Where she cruises

Charade's home port is Nice, in France, and she cruises the Western Mediterranean from there. Her grounds take in France, Monaco, Italy, Spain and Malta. On the Italian coast that means Capri and its clear blue water for swimming, and on the French side the glamour and bustle of Saint-Tropez.

Accommodation and crew

Ten guests sleep in five cabins: a full-beam owner's suite on the main deck with a king bed, a walk-in wardrobe and his and hers sinks in the bathroom, then two VIP double cabins and two twins on the lower deck, all of them dressed in soft blue and violet over ecru and beige so the lower deck feels as light as the decks above it. By day she can have twelve aboard. Nine crew look after them, close to a crew member for every guest, with July and August her two peak months.

Charter notes

Charade's hire suits two couples or a family, up to ten in all. A steel and glass stairway, its stone step tops backlit, leads up from the main deck to the sky lounge on the upper deck, where IPTV, Apple TV and Starlink internet put streaming services on the screen, and floor-to-ceiling windows fill the main salon with daylight. The dining table in that salon seats ten, which means both couples, or the whole family, can sit down indoors together.
