King's Ransom Sailing Catamaran

Five cabins on a 75ft (23m) sailing catamaran is a generous count, and each of hers takes a double bed – a king and four queens – so ten guests sleep in a room of their own. Matrix Yachts built King's Ransom in 2008, and she was refitted in 2022.

Water toys

Two paddleboards and two kayaks travel with her, so two guests can be standing and paddling while two more sit low in the water. An 18ft tender runs the trips ashore and tows the water skis, the wakeboard and a towable tube; fishing gear and snorkelling equipment are aboard for slower time in the water.

Where she cruises

Her home port is on Corsica, in France, and King's Ransom ranges over the waters of France and Italy, two coastlines within reach of the same base.

Accommodation and crew

A crew of four looks after ten guests overnight, which leaves the sailing, the cooking and the tender in other hands, and for a day on the water she can carry twelve. Air-conditioned cabins and Wi-Fi throughout keep a longer stay comfortable.

Comfort under way

She cruises at 8 knots and tops out at 12, so nothing about moving the boat feels hurried.

On deck

Her swim platform is the easy way into the sea and back aboard again.

Charter notes

She suits two couples travelling together, or a family, and she charters by the week, with three days the shortest hire and July and August the peak of her season, which leaves room for a full week aboard or a shorter stay.
