Kimata Sailing Catamaran
About Kimata
Four cabins, each with a queen berth, sleep eight guests aboard Kimata, and because the beds match from cabin to cabin the choice of room costs nobody anything. She is a Fountaine Pajot sailing catamaran of 67ft (20m), built in 2021.
On deck
A swim platform brings the sea to within a step of her deck, which makes both the first swim of the morning and the climb back aboard straightforward.
Water toys
Two Seabobs can go out together, and a pair of paddleboards covers the slower way across a bay. For the towed sports there are two sets of water skis, a Jobe wakeboard, a kneeboard and a banana. Snorkelling kit and fishing gear complete the nine toys she carries, and a 13ft Highfield tender handles the runs ashore.
Where she cruises
Athens is her home port, and her cruising is all within Greece, at its busiest in July and August.
Accommodation and crew
Three crew run her, so the sailing, the anchoring and the tender work belong to them rather than to the guests, and twelve can be aboard for a day on the water.
Comfort under way
Under power she settles at 8 knots with 10 knots available, and she uses 25 litres an hour while she does it.
Charter notes
Kimata suits a family or a group of friends hiring her in Greece, with everyone bedded the same way and a crew of three taking the running of the boat off their hands for the week.
