About Aphaea

Aphaea works from two bases, her home port at Lefkada and a second at Athens, so a charter can begin from either. She is a Fountaine Pajot Alegria 67, a 67ft (20m) sailing catamaran built in 2023.

Where she cruises

Greece is the whole of her cruising ground, a coast she covers under sail or under twin Volvo D3 engines, and the peak of her season in Greece falls in July and August.

Accommodation and crew

Five cabins, each on a queen bed with a bathroom of its own, sleep ten guests, the same ten she carries by day. The owner's suite has the largest of the five beds, sized between a queen and a king, and the other four are double cabins. A crew of three – a captain, a chef and a deck hand who serves as steward – sails her, cooks for the ten and runs the deck, so meals, passages and the tender are in their hands rather than a guest's.

Comfort under way

Under power Aphaea cruises at 9 knots with 11 in hand, and her sails are there for the passages where the engines are not needed. Windscoops draw the breeze down into the cabins and a hammock hangs on deck, both of them ways of staying cool without the air conditioning she also carries.

On deck

The flybridge is large enough to count as a terrace over the water, and it shares the sunbathing with the forward deck, while the forward cockpit has plenty of seating and the aft cockpit holds the table for eating outside, with a barbecue for cooking in the open. Lounges and sunbeds fill the open space, basic gym equipment gives a guest somewhere to train without leaving her, and the swim platform puts guests straight into the water.

Water toys

A Highfield tender with a 70 HP outboard runs the party ashore and pulls the water skis, the wakeboard and a Jobe Lunar towable that seats three. Two Seabob F5s go with her, so two guests can use them at the same time, alongside two paddleboards and a kayak built for two paddlers, and ten snorkelling sets give each guest a set apiece. Fishing gear is aboard for a line over the side, and chess and backgammon for the table.

Charter notes

Aphaea suits two couples or a family, ten guests at most, and she is offered by the week and as a three-day hire, with the shorter stay carrying the same chef, the same sails and the same toys as the full week.
