Kittiwake Sailing Catamaran

Three cabins, each with a queen bed, give Kittiwake a layout of three equal doubles, so the six who sleep aboard are all housed the same way. She is a 48ft (15m) sailing catamaran from Catana, delivered in 2020.

Comfort under way

Under sail she settles at 8 knots and has 12 in hand, enough to move between anchorages at an unhurried pace. Air conditioning in the cabins and Wi-Fi aboard keep the sleeping quarters cool and the group in touch with home.

On deck

The swim platform meets the water, so a swim begins by stepping off the boat and ends with an easy climb back on.

Water toys

Two SUP boards send a pair of paddlers out together, a wakeboard and towables bring speed to the water, and two floating mats are there for lying in it. Snorkelling gear and fishing tackle come too, and a 13ft tender carries the group ashore.

Where she cruises

Her home port is Exuma and the Bahamas are her cruising ground; she sails year-round, with January, February, March and December her peak months.

A crew of two sails her and looks after the six guests who sleep aboard.

Charter notes

Kittiwake suits a family or a group of friends who would rather sail the Bahamas than motor through it, and a rental runs from three days upward. Twelve can be aboard for a day on the water, so the party need not stop at the six who stay the night.
